Hi,

What is ''unrhodiumed white gold' (how does it get the white colour?).

Thanks

Hi Maria.

This is an excellent question hope this will help.

Gold originally is a yellow metal and to make it whiter it is mixed with white metals like silver or aluminium, but you can not make fully white so a rohdium finish is put on to make the white gold even whiter though often after a while this will wear and become noticable. Often people refer to this as having to get the ring re-dipped when infact it is re rohdiumed.

Unrohdiumed white gold does not have any rohdium (or plating) over the top so natural colour of white gold can be seen this will not fade or wear off and is similar to the colour of Titainum. Gold is a far more workable metal than Titainum.
